NZ Manuka honey has a unique history and it all begins with the humble Manuka plant. The Manuka plant has been well known to have medicinal qualities and Manuka health benefits have been used historically within the indigenous Maori people as Rongo, or medicine.

When Manuka is produced it is given a Unique Manuka Factor (UMF) rating. This rating is indicative of the purity and potency of the honey. A Manuka Honey with a higher UMF rating will contain a higher concentration of the unique properties (such as Methylglyoxal) found in Manuka that makes it such a delicious and beneficial product.
